About Us
OxyGeneration opened in 2018 to provide a private, world-class hyperbaric oxygenation service in Galway.
One of our founders, Brian Lynch, first came across hyperbaric oxygenation over thirty years ago when a client of his benefited from sessions, and over the years he’s seen lives transformed from it. In 2015 following an accident, Brian went from St. James’ Hospital in Dublin over to the National Hyperbaric Centre for daily sessions to help his recovery. After being discharged from hospital and back home in Galway, Brian found himself in the routine of driving up to Dublin and completed a cycle of over 60 sessions.
Galwegians are very fortunate in that University Hospital Galway is home to the National Hyperbaric Medicine Unit, with its own hyperbaric chamber, which is fantastic for both patients and Health Services Executive public hospital consultants across every field of medicine. Brian wanted to provide a service in Galway, that was more accessible. This mission led to the opening of OxyGeneration.
Our Approach
OxyGeneration is not a quick win. We will always be very clear and respectful with clients when managing expectations. HBOT ultimately works because of physics, however with some conditions HBOT benefits are not the solution.
For many people, attending OxyGeneration is done in consultation with their doctors as part of their treatment plan and is an important part of their recovery. Multiple sessions are always required for very serious conditions. This could range from 40 to even 140+ sessions.
HBOT requires a time and financial commitment from people because often these sessions need to be scheduled multiple days a week until concluded. Many clients, after consultations with their doctors and families, decide this commitment and desired outcome is better than the alternative. It’s an important discussion to have with your loved ones before deciding on making this commitment.
